My husband and I had a wonderful weekend. The bed and breakfast was clean and John the inn keeper was a warm, funny and friendly man. The view from our room of the harbor was beautiful.

I always give Booked.net a 10 for their user friendly interface and clarity on what I'm getting for my booking, but this time I was extremely surprised with what I thought the room I booked and the actual room I got - instead of a normal size queen room with views, it was a very small attic room with an extremely loud air conditioner, a sixty's small TV, and a small window/hole with "View".

The location was perfect for enjoying the
Scenic coastline and local attractions. The charming decor added to the experience, yet the breakfast options felt a bit basic and could use some variety.

We stayed for two nights during the Thanksgiving. John Orlando as the host is so friendly and caring, he made it like home for us. We stayed in an ocean view room. The seaside walkway (promenade) along the Cape Ann Shore is at the opposite side of the Inn. Just corss the street, your are smelling the sea. It was fantastic. The city kept is very clean, well lighted and tourist friendly. We felt very safe to walk at night. Downtown is less than 10 minutes' walk where the best seafood restaurants are and the lovely lounge type theater hall, where one can relax, enjoy afternoon tea or coffee and eat dinner( bring your own dinner). Over all we had a wonderful weekend break.

The views of the harbor from the room, fine. The stairs to the third floor were steep and challenging.

Booked a room with working fireplace. The hotel location was magnificent and lovely close to the waterfront. Plus, it was approx 5 mins walk from Pavilion Beach.

Very comfy beds, a microwave oven, a writing table and an iron with ironing board in the room. Location just off restaurants, shops and the 7 Seas Whale Watching outing as well as the shops in town.

The fine harbor view from the porch was amazing.
The steep stairs to reach the third floor were quite challenging.

All my thoughts, no sugarcoating
This vintage Inn offers fine harbor views, but sadly reflects neglect in upkeep. My room had cracked plaster and peeling wallpaper. Plus, I encountered a rude proprietor, which soured the stay.

beautiful ocean view, charming Victorian decor, lovely gardens
The third-floor attic room felt cramped, with peeling wallpaper and a non-draining sink!!! It needs serious updates after 25 years of neglect. A little attention to maintenance would go a long way in enhancing the stay!!!

Would be happy to recommend for a rapid stop
Charming stay, comfortable room, with amazing harbor views from our third-floor suite and a warm atmosphere improved with friendly service from the knowledgeable host.

The beef dishes around here? Absolutely mouthwatering! Don't miss grabbing a bite at Virgilio's for some local eats. Plus, the cute vibe of the Inn. John, the host, knows the area's hidden gems and was super friendly!
Honestly, we couldn't find a single thing to complain about-everything shined, from the cozy decor to the gorgeous ocean views. Even when windows didn't have a view, the charm of the place was undeniable.

Enjoyed sipping coffee on the sun terrace and lounging in the tranquil garden area while soaking up the vibes. Just a heads up, the stairs to our room were pretty steep, but it was worth it for the views ☕
